Kijana is one of the founders of Magnificent Brother Barbershop.  He taught classes about wearing natural hair to school-age students thought out the United States.  Kijana, a navy man, saw people in the Fiji Islands wearing their natural hair, making him decide to bring this look to the United States.  I started in New York City at a small shop called Sister Rose Shop.  Kijana and other barbers started promoting Afro's, and then as years passed, the name Afro's changed to Naturals.  Over time, this hairstyle made its way to the West Coast, where Kijana opened his first All-Natural Barbershop, Magnificent Brothers, located on Western Ave in Los Angeles.  At this location, Kijana helped newly released convicts become barbers (Entrapunters).  Since the opening of Kijana's first shop, he has owned and operated two other locations and then made his final home at 4267 Crenshaw Blvd, Los Angeles, California 90008, where it has stood for over 60 years.
