Twirling your hair is part of a group of behaviors called “fidgets.” Children, especially, may twirl their hair as a way of self-soothing to calm anxiety, wind down before bedtime, or simply deal with boredom. Dreadlocks can form organically when someone refrains from combing or brushing their hair. 

Braids & Weaves

Braids are hairstyles formed by interweaving three or more strands of hair, whereas a weave is a product made of human hair or synthetic fibers sewn into the hair, unlike clipped extensions and taped or bonded to your hair.

Fades

A fade haircut is a cutting technique that tapers the hair so it eventually “fades” into the skin. Generally, this involves keeping it longer on top and gradually shaving closer down the sides and back.

Press & Curl

Press and curl is a technique used a long time ago to straighten (press) natural hair and then curl (style) the hair with grease that gives natural hair a look like it has been relaxed. It allows the natural hair to be straight, shiny, silky, soft, and most importantly, the hair has a lot of body and movement.

Afro's & Natural

Afro-textured hair, or kinky hair, is the hair texture of African populations. Each strand of this hair type grows in a tiny, angle-like helix shape. The overall effect is such that, contrasted with straight, wavy, or curly hair, afro-textured hair appears denser.

Beards & Facials

Beards can be long or short, full or sparse, worn with or without a mustache; it typically extends from the sideburns, down the cheeks, and under the chin.

A facial is a family of skin care treatments for the face, including steam, exfoliation, extraction, creams, lotions, masks, peels, and massage.
